Designation: Mechanical Design Engineer

Department: Cast resin dry type transformer (Design & Development)

Reporting to: Manager, CRT Engineering, R&D

Job Location: SGBMY, Nilai, Malaysia

Overview

Responsible for the design of mechanical components for the cast resin transformer at SGB Malaysia. Works with minimal supervision and executes design, product development and product improvement activities to meet customer needs. Strong knowledge of 3D modelling in SolidWorks is a prerequisite for the position.

Responsibilities
  • Mechanical design/detail of core and coils, enclosures and cooling systems as per customer requirements.
  • Review designs for mechanical integrity and conformance to applicable standards.
  • Select transformer accessories/components.
  • Read, interpret, and prepare data for the engineering bill of materials.
  • Prepare engineering documentation such as 3D models, drawings, schematics and specifications for manufacturing.
  • Develop tools and rules to make design activity more efficient
