Job summary

A leading energy company seeks a Material Controller in Johor, Malaysia. You will oversee material management for a Biorefinery project, ensuring efficient flow and compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in material control for refinery projects and must be proficient in English; Mandarin is a plus. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Proven experiences in material control in greenfield refinery/biofuel projects.
  • MUST be able to read, write and communicate in English; Mandarin is a plus.
  • Currently working in Malaysia.

Job description

We are looking for MATERIAL CONTROLLER to work in Malaysia for a Biorefinery project.

As a Material Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the efficient flow of materials required for the successful execution of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of all materials for the project
  • Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies
  • Collaborate with procurement team to ensure timely and cost effective sourcing of materials
  • Generate purchase orders, track deliveries and coordinate with suppliers to resolve any issues
  • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate favorable terms
  • Work closely with quality control team to establish and maintain quality standards for incoming materials
  • Conduct inspections of materials to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations
  • Anticipate material requirements and proactively address potential shortages or delays
  • Coordinate the transportation and delivery of materials to the designated facilities.
  • Work with logistics partners to optimize transportation routes and reduce lead times
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely arrivals
  • Maintain detailed records of material transactions, including receipts, shipments, and adjustment
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards and environmental requirements

Requirements

  • Proven experiences in material control in the greenfield refinery / biofuel projects from beginning to completion of projects.
  • MUST be able to read, write and communicate in English and Mandarin will be added advantage
  • MUST be currently working in Malaysia.
  • Able to start work within short notice preferred
