About Borong is a fast-growing B2B eCommerce platform with embedded financing, built for SMEs in Southeast Asia. We help suppliers and retailers transact more efficiently by simplifying procurement, unlocking credit, and opening new sales channels.

We're in a high-growth phase and looking for someone to build our marketing engine from the inside out — someone who’s not afraid of workflow diagrams, CRM rules, and execution. If you get excited by user journeys, lifecycle campaigns, and building things from scratch, keep reading.

The role: Marketing Automation & Operations Lead. You’ll take over the executional layer of marketing from CRM segmentation and campaign logic to workflow automation and dashboard reporting. You’ll work directly with the Group CEO (who also leads Marketing) to transform strategy into structured, repeatable actions that scale.

Responsibilities

Automation & Workflow Setup

  • Set up and maintain automated workflows for onboarding, dormant user reactivation, credit usage nudges, etc.
  • Configure multi‑step journeys based on user segments, credit behavior, purchase cycles, and platform activity
  • Build workflows across Brevo, Twilio, and Zendesk (email, SMS, support touchpoints)
  • Own our Brevo lists and segmentation logic (FMCG vs F&B, buyers vs suppliers, active vs dormant, etc.)
  • Ensure list hygiene and high deliverability (bounces, unsubscribes, re‑engagement loops)
  • Support campaign execution with UTM tracking, testing, and launch across email/SMS

Reporting & Insights

  • Build and maintain dashboards for campaign performance (open, click, conversion, credit utilization)
  • Provide weekly reporting to CEO with actionable insights on marketing performance
  • Coordinate with our Data team to enrich segmentation and improve behavioral targeting

Documentation & Scaling

  • Create clear documentation of workflows, user journeys, and automation maps
  • Build with scale in mind — this is not a one‑off campaign role, it’s infrastructure‑building
Qualifications
  • Have 3–5 years of experience in marketing automation, CRM operations, or lifecycle marketing
  • Have built marketing systems from scratch in a fast‑paced startup or scale‑up
  • Know your way around Brevo, Twilio, Zendesk, or similar tools
  • Are detail‑obsessed and love fixing broken flows or tracking gaps
  • Are fluent in logic trees, triggers, if/then rules, and journey mapping
  • Can write clean, clear copy (bonus, but not mandatory)
  • Are comfortable with feedback and iterations — and like solving puzzles independently
  • Want to help build something that makes a real impact for Southeast Asian SMEs
Location

Based in Malaysia (preferred). Our team operates with flexibility but with a bias for action.
