Job summary

A leading technology company in Johor Bahru, Malaysia is seeking a qualified individual for a role in SMT manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for SMT line setup, process troubleshooting, quality control, and conducting maintenance. Applicants should possess a diploma in Electronics or a related field, with 1-3 years of experience in SMT manufacturing preferred. Strong understanding of PCB assembly processes and IPC standards is necessary, along with the ability to handle tools like microscopes and multimeters. This role may require working in shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to read drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Willing to work on rotating shifts/overtime as needed.

Job description

This role supports all aspects of process in PCBA production lines.

Responsibilities

• SMT Line Setup: Set up solder paste printers, pick‑and‑place machines, SPI, AOI, and reflow ovens. Load feeders, components, materials, perform verification. Perform program loading and alignment checks. Manage change‑over and first article verification. Monitor machine performance to ensure stable production flow.
• Troubleshooting & Process Control: Diagnose and correct misalignment, tombstoning, solder bridging, missing components. Resolve feeder, nozzle, vacuum, or machine errors. Optimize printing parameters, placement accuracy, and reflow temperature profiles. Support continuous improvement of SMT processes.
• Quality Control: Review SPI/AOI results and take corrective actions. Ensure compliance with IPC‑A‑610 and internal quality standards. Document defects and assist root‑cause analysis.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine cleaning and calibration. Maintain nozzles and feeders to reduce downtime. Record all maintenance activities following SOPs.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering, or related field
• 1–3 years of experience in SMT manufacturing (preferred)
• Knowledge of PCB assembly processes, SMT components, and soldering principles
• Ability to read drawings, BOMs, and work instructions
• High quality awareness and willingness to take responsibility
• Basic understanding of IPC standards (IPC‑A‑610)
• Ability to use microscopes, multimeters, rework equipment, and measurement tools
• Willing to work on rotating shifts/overtime as needed
