Working closely with the Production, Maintenance, HSSE, Laboratory, and Engineering teams, the IT Engineer ensures that plant systems and OT applications—such as PIMS, LIMS, EAM, DCS/PLC interfaces, and IoT monitoring tools—operate smoothly, securely, and efficiently. The role requires strong hands‑on troubleshooting capability, a solid understanding of plant processes, and the ability to respond quickly to operational issues to minimize downtime.

This position is fully plant-based and contributes directly to safe, stable, and efficient daily operations through digitalization, systems support, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Manufacturing Application Support
  • Provide on-site support for PIMS, LIMS, EAM, and other production-related systems.
  • Monitor system performance, validate real‑time process data, and ensure high application availability.
  • Troubleshoot issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
2. DCS, PLC & OT–IT Integration
  • Support data connectivity between DCS/PLC systems and IT applications.
  • Assist with tag mapping, signal verification, and troubleshooting data acquisition issues.
  • Collaborate with Instrument, Electrical, and Control teams to resolve plant automation and data flow issues.
3. IoT Systems & Digitalization Support
  • Support IoT sensors, gateways, and digital monitoring solutions deployed across the plant.
  • Perform configuration, testing, and validation of IoT data streams and dashboards.
  • Assist with new digitalization initiatives and system enhancements.
4. Enterprise & Corporate Systems Support
  • Support system rollouts, enhancements, change requests, and user training.
  • Collaborate with IT Centers of Excellence (COEs) and global teams to ensure system alignment and integration.
5. Cybersecurity, Compliance & User Management
  • Ensure adherence to IT/OT cybersecurity policies, access controls, and patch management.
6. Vendor & Project Coordination
  • Coordinate with external vendors for system support, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in project planning, requirement gathering, testing, commissioning, and go-live activities.
  • Ensure vendors comply with plant safety requirements and permit‑to‑work procedures.
7. User Support & Documentation
  • Manage IT support services, provide technical assistance, and resolve escalated issues.
  • Prepare user guides, SOPs, and knowledge‑sharing materials.
  • Maintain system documentation, including configuration records, change logs, network diagrams, and asset inventories.
  • Perform any other ad‑hoc tasks as assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Automation, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in IT application support, OT/plant systems support, or industrial digitalization, preferably within a refinery, chemical plant, manufacturing facility, or heavy industry environment.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or operational systems such as PIMS, LIMS, EAM, and other production‑related applications.
  • Have basic knowledge of DCS/PLC systems, industrial automation, and OT–IT integration.
  • Exposure to IoT technologies, including sensors, gateways, and data acquisition platforms.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks, identify issues, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
