The Group Manager, Public Relations supports the execution of communications and public relations initiatives across the region.
This role helps maintain the brand's public image through content development, media coordination, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that brand messaging is locally relevant and strategically aligned.
Job Responsibilities
Media Editorial Skillset
- Manage media inquiries, schedule interviews, preparing press releases, speeches, and arranging press drops to effectively communicate the organisation's message.
- Assist in drafting and localiaing press releases, corporate announcements, and speaking points for regional markets.
- Coordinate media outreach, including pitching stories, managing media lists, and handling interview logistics.
Exceptional Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- High/Native-level fluency in English to enable effective communication and relationship-building across the region and with the global team. Additional fluency in Bahasa Melayu and/or Mandarin will be great to have.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality communication materials that are clear, concise, and impactful across various channels.
Media Event Management
- A proven track record of 5-7 years of success leading media and/or stakeholder engagement initiatives, demonstrating expertise across both traditional and digital channels.
- Planning and overseeing press conferences, media interviews, and PR events to boost visibility and media coverage.
Industry & Market Scope
- Ideally candidate will have a background in Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Crisis Management or a related field.
- Showcasing a deep understanding of cultural nuances and communication best practices for diverse audiences.
Stakeholder Management
- Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, effectively managing relationships, and building consensus among diverse internal and external partners.
Media Monitoring
- Monitor news, media coverage and social channels to track sentiment, industry trends, brand mentions and report on PR outcomes.
Reputation Management
- Maintain stellar brand awareness and oversee crisis communication plan with Legal compliance for best practices of business continuity.
Corporate Brand Merchandise
- Manage the inventory of corporate branded merchandise for key stakeholders as part of press drops.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mass Comm or equivalent
- Min. 7 years in PR Agencies or Corporate Communications
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Social listening tools (Digimind, iSentia, etc.)
- Detail-oriented, brand savvy, sensitive to cultural nuances, excellent cross collaboration skills
