MANAGER - PLANT ENGINEERING & MAINTENANCE
Reliability of Engineering and Maintenance
- Recommend the optimal operating environment (e.g. temperature, torque, ampere) in which the various equipment and machines will need to operate.
- Manage and strive towards achieving zero unscheduled down time, through detailed planning and implementation of preventive maintenance programme (including scheduled maintenance).
- Collaborate with Kossan Engineering (KE) on feasibility (and compatibility) of modifications made to machinery equipment are compatible. Support testing and commissioning of the new equipment installation.
- Monitor timeliness of response time and resolution and take necessary interventions to address gaps identified to minimise duration of unscheduled down time.
- Inspection of repair and/or maintenance work completed report to ensure necessary verifications are done prior to deploying equipment back into service.
- Focal point for Production team to escalate matters that requires the immediate intervention and prioritisation from PEM.
Manage Engineering Spare Parts Inventory
- Plan and oversee availability of spare parts through reviewing Purchase Requisition (PR) and approve Material Request (MR) to issue components required for preventive maintenance and/or repairs.
- Oversee the assembly and instrument service operations in the engineering workshop to ensure timeliness and quality of repairs meets expectations, while adhering to the safety standards defined.
- Traceability (service record, repairer, location, shelf life) of components serviced in the Workshop.
- Continuously drive initiatives to improve plant machinery reliability, efficiency and availability to minimise production down time.
- Drive cost efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance programme of plant machinery and equipment, balancing between performance and cost.
- Maintain good record keeping and analyse (e.g. Mean Time Between Failures) to focus investigation into equipment failures and implement changes to prevent recurrences of equipment failure.
- Review accuracy of the root cause analysis of breakdowns and determine the effectiveness of the solution provided by the team to drive towards zero unscheduled down time.
- Implement and utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as the basis to schedule preventive maintenance, define scope and manage resources required for preventive maintenance.
- Collaboratively propose and implement initiatives that will drive lower consumption and efficient use of entire plant power supply, water, gas and workforce directly managed.
Safety, Standards and Compliance
- Define, communicate and review the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) for processes, equipment, installation and ensure it is kept current.
- Cultivate and enforce safe working practices to ensure safety of the workforce in the team, compliance to safety standards and drive toward zero loss time injury.
Develop Human Capital
- Mentor inexperienced engineers to develop skills and provide technical leadership (formal or informal) in operations and local projects.
- Monitoring team performance against target Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), goals, career development and collaborate with HR to strengthen plant engineering team competencies and talent supply.
- Utilise depth and/or breadth of experience to identify cross-functional business opportunities and participate in internal company networks to share knowledge and practices to the benefit of others.
Others
- Any other task and/or assigned duties as required by the management.
