Job summary

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the chargeback, refund, fraud, and underwriting functions, managing team performance, workflows, and development to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Ensure merchant risk policies are effectively implemented, regularly reviewed, and aligned with group standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise risk system functionalities, drive improvements based on business needs, and ensure proper controls, including collateral handling and reconciliation.
  • Monitor the overall health of the merchant portfolio, prepare regular exposure and risk reports, and highlight key trends to internal and Group-level stakeholders.
  • Act as a subject matter expert by advising the Group CRO, CEO, and senior leadership on merchant risk issues and strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with acquiring banks, card schemes, and regulators to stay current with industry updates and compliance expectations.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to support business scalability, operational excellence, and enhanced risk evaluation frameworks.
Requirements
  • Possess a Bachelor\'s Degree in Risk Management, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
  • Possess at least 8 years of experience in risk-related roles, including a minimum of 5 years in a relevant management position, preferably in a financial institution or payment industry-related organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in card payment dispute resolution, transactional fraud detection, merchant risk evaluation, merchant onboarding, and customer due diligence (CDD).
  • Strong knowledge of Know Your Customer (KYC) practices and regulatory requirements in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT).
  • Familiarity with the credit and debit card ecosystem, and hands-on experience interacting with merchants, acquirers, and financial institutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and consolidate complex business information to identify and mitigate risk issues.
