We are seeking a strategic, results-driven leader to head the group-wide Media Management & Savings function at Sime Darby Property. This role is responsible for all paid media and owned media strategies across Corporate, Product Development, Industrial, Retail and Leisure.
The Manager will lead the strategy for media planning and buying, optimize spend to achieve corporate KPIs, and deliver measurable media savings at group level. This includes overseeing social media strategies for the group’s owned platforms, ensuring alignment between paid and organic strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible to manage and execute : media (paid, owned & earned) and social assets management.
- Lead the development of integrated paid and organic media strategies across all business units, consolidating plans for efficiency and impact.
- Oversee high-profile group campaigns, including festive launches, retail activations, leisure events, industrial showcases, and corporate branding initiatives.
- Ensure synergy between paid media and owned social channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube) to maximize reach, engagement, and conversions.
- Align all activities with corporate scorecard KPIs such as sales achievement, brand perception, and audience growth. 2. Media Buying, Negotiation & Savings
- Spearhead negotiations with media owners, agencies, and publishers for premium placements, bonus entitlements, and preferential rates at group level.
- Drive bulk buying, barter trade, and asset bundling strategies to achieve annual savings targets.
- Monitor campaign ROI and continuously optimize for cost efficiency and performance.
3. Social Media Management & Performance
- Oversee group-level social media content planning, campaign execution, and KPI tracking across all business units.
- Guide creative direction, tone, and platform best practices to ensure brand consistency and engagement growth.
- Analyze performance data, identify trends, and implement optimizations to drive higher reach, CTR, engagement, and follower growth.
4. Governance, Budget Management & Reporting
- Manage the group’s Advertising & Promotions (A&P) budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking, and cost reconciliation.
- Maintain centralized media and social media performance dashboards, contracts, and proof-of-performance records.
- Present regular updates to senior management on budget utilization, savings achieved, and campaign impact.
5. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Media Management & Savings team to deliver best-in-class execution.
- Partner with business unit leads, finance, procurement, and agencies to align media and social strategies with business priorities.
- Act as the group’s main point of contact for all strategic media and social decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
- 8–10 years’ experience in media planning, buying, and social media management, preferably at a group or corporate level.
- Proven track record of delivering significant media savings while maintaining or improving campaign performance.
- Expertise in digital (Meta, Google, Programmatic) and traditional (print, OOH, radio, TV) media.
- Strong understanding of social media growth strategies and platform analytics.
- Established network with key media owners and agencies.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Experience in property, retail, or lifestyle industries is a plus
