Lead day-to-day operations of the Raw Water Treatment Plant to achieve efficiency, reliability, and compliance with performance targets and KPIs.
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement operational strategies and improvement plans to optimize plant productivity, water quality, and cost efficiency.
Maintenance Management:
Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs, ensuring timely execution, minimal downtime, and alignment with asset-care strategies.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all SPAN licenses, LUAS abstraction permits, and regulatory obligations are renewed, updated, and strictly compliant with national standards.
Prepare and manage annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets; approve major procurement, chemical purchases, and service contracts; and drive cost-optimization initiatives.
Project Execution:
Lead cross-functional improvement, automation, and upgrade projects; review engineering proposals and feasibility studies to ensure technical and financial viability.
People Development:
Mentor and supervise engineers, supervisors, and technical teams; conduct performance reviews, implement training programs, and promote a safety-first, high-performance culture.
Safety & Environmental Governance:
Enforce ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance; oversee risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring continuous improvement in safety performance.
Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the key liaison for senior management, regulators, and suppliers; represent RWP in management reviews, corporate sustainability, and ESG initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Other Duties:
Drive continuous improvement in plant efficiency, sustainability, and resource utilization; perform additional tasks assigned by management in alignment with corporate goals.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or any related discipline.
Work Experience:
· Minimum 8 years experience in water treatment plant or utility operations.
Technical and Professional Knowledge:
· Expert knowledge of water treatment processes, raw water abstraction systems, and chemical dosing control.
· Strong understanding of SPAN licensing requirements and LUAS abstraction regulations.
· Proficiency in project management, cost control, and regulatory reporting.
· Familiarity with SCADA, CMMS, and engineering analysis tools.
Certification / License Requirement:
· Registered Energy Manager by Suruhanjaya Tenaga is an advantage.
