A global healthcare company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Manager for Data Management to lead a dedicated team. The role involves overseeing data access policies, developing a data warehousing strategy, and ensuring compliance with regulations. A successful candidate will have extensive experience in data management and leadership, along with proficiency in data warehousing technologies like SQL Server and AWS Redshift.
We're seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager for Data Management to lead a dedicated team of data managers and analysts. This team will collaborate closely with our GTS to design, implement, and manage data sources and DataMart solutions. These solutions are the backbone of efficient and secure access to critical business data. Additionally, the Manager for Data Management will play a pivotal role in understanding the business objectives to then find new data sources for acquisition and ingestion to help drive analytics to achieve ResMed goals.
Data Access Management:
Effectively collaborate with our GTS business partners to help with the development and maintenance of data access policies and procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data access requirements and user permissions.
Implement and maintain data access controls to ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Design and manage the matching/connecting of new data to existing customer and physician data to progressively enrich our market understanding.
Data Warehousing Strategy:
Effectively collaborate with our GTS business partners to develop and execute a data warehousing strategy aligned with business objectives.
Lead the design and architecture of data warehousing solutions to support data integration and storage needs.
Ensure data warehousing scalability and performance optimization.
Team Leadership:
Master the business objectives to identify, ingest and manage new data sources for the CMG
Build and manage a high-performing team of data engineers and data warehouse administrators.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members.
Data Quality and Governance:
Implement data quality checks and data governance practices to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
Define and enforce data retention policies and archival strategies.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
Monitor the performance of data access and warehousing solutions and implement optimizations as needed.
Proactively identify and resolve data-related issues and bottlenecks.
Vendor Management:
Effective collaboration with our GTS department to help evaluate and manage relationships with data access and warehousing technology vendors.
Collaborate with vendors to implement best practices and stay updated on industry trends.
Evaluate and manage non-enterprise data vendors.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and deliver regular reports on data access and warehousing performance and compliance.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data access processes and data warehouse architecture.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Finance/Accounting managing a high number of large data sets, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, data warehousing, data analysis, and data access control.
Excellent resourcefulness and entrepreneurial skills to lift and pivot projects as priorities change
Strong leadership and team management skills. Minimum of 5 years of experience leading people.
Proficiency in data warehousing technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, AWS Redshift, Snowflake).
Knowledge of data access control tools and methodologies.
Experience with data modeling and ETL processes.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations.
Certification in relevant data management or warehousing technologies is a plus.
