A prestigious healthcare group in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Pharmacy Director to lead pharmacy governance, enforce compliance with regulatory standards, and oversee quality improvement programs. Lead, direct, and oversee pharmacy governance, standards, and service delivery across the KPJ Healthcare Group to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality pharmacy practices.
Enforce compliance with all statutory and professional requirements, including the Registration of Pharmacists Act 1951, Poisons Act 1952, Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and related regulations, across all KPJ hospitals.
Liaise with the Ministry of Health Pharmacy Enforcement Division and other regulatory bodies to coordinate inspections, audits, documentation submission, and corrective actions as required.
Establish, standardise, and monitor group-wide pharmacy policies, procedures, ethical standards, and operating frameworks to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with Chief Pharmacists to set common group pharmacy Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with corporate objectives, accreditation requirements, medication safety, and service efficiency.
Consolidate, analyse, and report pharmacy performance data, including clinical outcomes, medication safety indicators, operational efficiency, and cost optimisation, for corporate-level decision making.
Lead and oversee medication safety and quality improvement programs at group level, including medication error reporting, root cause analysis, trend monitoring, and risk reduction initiatives.
Establish, govern, and standardise the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (AMS) across KPJ hospitals, ensuring alignment with Ministry of Health, MSQH, JCI, and evidence-based best practices.
Oversee hospital-level AMS Committees and AMS Pharmacist functions, and monitor antimicrobial utilisation, restricted antibiotic use, prescribing appropriateness, and resistance trends at group level.
Drive group-wide AMS audits, surveillance activities, education programs, and improvement initiatives, and ensure findings are translated into actionable recommendations for hospitals.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders, including medical, nursing, infection control, and allied health teams, to optimise medication management and antimicrobial use.
Review and evaluate hospital pharmacy budgets, manpower proposals, procurement plans, and cost-saving initiatives to support sustainable and efficient pharmacy operations.
Lead and support digital transformation and innovation in pharmacy services, including data analytics, workflow optimisation, and readiness for KCIS / nHIS and other corporate systems.
Oversee compliance with MSQH, JCI and other accreditation standards related to pharmacy operations, documentation, and clinical practice, including audit readiness and corrective action closure.
Establish and oversee structured training, competency assessment, and continuous professional development programs for pharmacists and pharmacy support personnel across the group.
Identify workforce development needs, specialisation pathways, succession planning, and talent advancement opportunities to ensure long-term sustainability of pharmacy services.
Promote people-centred care by addressing patient feedback, medication-related concerns, and service recovery actions, while upholding the Pharmacist Code of Ethics and professional conduct.
Prepare and present pharmacy, medication safety, and antimicrobial stewardship performance reports, risks, and strategic recommendations to relevant corporate and clinical governance committees.
