A leading energy company in Malaysia is seeking a Manager for Business Planning & Coordination. This role involves driving successful execution of strategic projects, enhancing stakeholder communication, and aligning initiatives with organizational goals. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree, plus extensive experience in LNG/gas infrastructure. A proven track record in project management and business planning is essential for supporting business growth and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
To drive the successful execution of strategic projects by coordinating activities, managing stakeholder communication, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. This role supports business growth by evaluating new opportunities, mitigating risk, and fostering strong partnerships while maintaining compliance and delivering value across the project value chain.
Lead and oversee end-to-end project execution to ensure alignment with approved schedules, deliverables, and resources.
Function as the central coordination point between commercial, technical, operations, and external stakeholders.
Monitor project progress, resolve bottlenecks proactively, and implement mitigation actions to ensure timely achievement of milestones.
Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and governance are adhered to across the project lifecycle.
2. Stakeholder Communication & ReportingManage structured stakeholder engagement, delivering comprehensive and professional updates on project status, risks, and significant developments.
Prepare executive reports, dashboards, presentations, and strategic summaries for senior management and partners.
Foster transparency, trust, and clear communication to support informed and timely decision‑making.
3. Business Evaluation & Strategic DevelopmentWork closely with Business Development & Corporate Strategy teams to evaluate new business ventures within LNG and gas infrastructure value chain – including regasification, cold energy utilization, virtual pipelines, and bunkering.
Conduct feasibility studies, financial modelling, market outlook assessment, and scenario planning for new ventures or integration initiatives.
Contribute to long‑term strategic planning to accelerate growth and diversification opportunities.
Establish a structured risk assessment framework to identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks.
Engage project team to ensure early detection and management of emerging risks with corrective actions in place.
Escalate critical issues and provide risk impact recommendations to management to safeguard project performance and continuity.
4. Partnership & Contract GovernanceLead contract negotiation, drafting, evaluation, and administration to ensure alignment with commercial and strategic objectives.
Work with Legal, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure compliance, risk visibility, and achievement of contractual milestones and obligations.
Build and maintain strong relationship with partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies to support win‑win outcomes and long‑term collaboration.
5. Responsibility Towards Safety & HealthPerform duties safely and comply with all Safety and Health standards, instructions, procedures, and policies to promote a safe and conducive workplace.
6. Responsibility Towards Information Security Management System (ISMS)Protect all organizational information assets and report actual or suspected breaches immediately.
Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information at all times in line with regulatory and contractual requirements.
Demonstrated experience driving multi‑disciplinary project execution involving commercial, technical, legal, and operations functions.
Techno‑commercial experience in LNG/Gas infrastructure including commercial structuring, operational coordination, and business execution.
Hands‑on involvement with corporate strategy or business development teams to align project goals with broader strategic direction.
Strong exposure in preparing reports, executive‑level presentations, and communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in managing contract deliverables, obligations, performance tracking and stakeholder governance.
Proven involvement in budgeting, economic modelling, cost forecasting, and business planning for infrastructure‑based projects.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or related field from a recognized institution.
Master’s Degree in Business/Engineering/Energy Management.
15–17 years experience in LNG/Gas value chain, with at least 10 years in commercial, project development, business planning or execution roles.
Exposure to international LNG commercial frameworks, JVs, terminal operations or cross‑border energy projects.
Familiarity with financial evaluation tools, economic modelling, and commercial structuring.
Professional certifications in project management (PMP/Prince2), commercial negotiation or risk management is an advantage.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, gas supply contracting, terminal access, and energy commercial arrangements.
