Job summary

A prominent development firm in Malaysia is looking for a Manager in Business Development & Project Planning. This role entails managing submissions to local authorities, coordinating project timelines, and ensuring compliance with planning regulations. The ideal candidate should have at least a degree in Urban & Regional Planning, 5-8 years of relevant experience, and strong coordination and communication skills. This position offers an opportunity to lead planning initiatives and engage with various stakeholders.

Job description
Manager - Business Development & Project Planning
  • Manage submissions and approval processes with local authority, councils, planning departments.
  • Handle authority liaison, submissions such as Development Order (DO), layout approval, land conversion, subdivision, amalgamation and related planning applications.
  • Ensure all planning submissions are complete, accurate and meet authority requirements.
  • Project coordination work closely with internal departments (Project, Sales & Marketing, Contracts, Finance etc) to support project planning and timelines.
  • Resolve planning-related issues that impact project design or progress.
  • Monitor updates in planning policies and advise management accordingly.
  • Represent the company in meetings with local authorities, technical agencies, consultants engagement.
  • Attend site visits, technical meetings and public consultations when required.
  • Reporting and prepare planning reports, project status updates to management.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all planning submissions and approvals.
  • Coordination and guidance to the subordinate job task and always monitor to the staff performance.
Job Requirements
  • Candidate must holding at least Degree in Urban & Regional Planning or Town Planning.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in property development or consultancy.
  • At least 3 years as a Managerial level.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian planning regulations, acts and authority processes.
  • Excellent coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills.
