Overview

The Strategy & Economic Analytics Manager for Business & Corporate Banking focuses on driving insightful research using banking data. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing large datasets to identify key trends, risks, and opportunities within the banking sector across Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Hong Kong. This role reports to the Head of Growth Sectors, Senior Bankers, and Network Banking.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth economic research and quantitative analysis on banking industry trends, including credit, liquidity, and capital markets.
• Utilize advanced statistical and econometric techniques to model and forecast key economic indicators related to banking data.
• Analyze and interpret large, complex datasets to identify actionable insights for business strategy and risk management.
• Prepare and present clear, concise reports, presentations, and dashboards for internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Stay informed of key macroeconomic developments, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics impacting the banking industry.

Job Requirements

• Malaysian citizen
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 10 years and above experience in economic research, data analysis, or a similar role, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Strong sensitivity in data and numbers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present ideas confidently to diverse groups, from peers to senior leadership.
