This role is pivotal in establishing actuarial governance and technical readiness for FFTO’s pre-operational phase. The incumbent will lead the development of pricing, reserving, and capital models, ensuring compliance with regulatory and Shariah requirements. The role includes implementing robust data governance, catastrophe modeling, and risk frameworks to support sustainable growth. The Senior Manager will also provide strategic actuarial insights to guide product development, underwriting, and financial planning, while building analytical capabilities within the organization.
Accountabilities
Develop and maintain actuarial models that ensure financial sustainability, capital adequacy, and alignment with risk appetite.
Provide actuarial input into business planning, profitability analysis, and portfolio optimization.
Design pricing strategies that balance fairness, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability.
Support product development teams with actuarial insights to ensure clarity and transparency in customer propositions.
Embed ethical and Shariah-compliant principles in actuarial methodologies and reporting.
Promote transparency in assumptions and methodologies to build trust with stakeholders
Lead actuarial readiness initiatives, including pricing, reserving, capital modeling, and catastrophe risk assessment.
Establish data governance protocols and analytics frameworks to ensure integrity and compliance.
Collaborate with IT and Product Development to integrate actuarial models into digital platforms for operational efficiency.
Provide actuarial support for regulatory submissions, retakaful arrangements, and risk management strategies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field.
Minimum 5 years in actuarial roles with exposure to pricing, reserving, and catastrophe modeling.
Familiarity with SQL and basic ETL/ELT concepts.
Understanding of actuarial concepts and regulatory frameworks (BNM, IFSA 2013).
