Job summary

A prominent finance company based in Malaysia is seeking a Management Accountant. The ideal candidate will provide robust financial support to enhance local decision-making. Responsibilities include managing month-end processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and supporting treasury activities. Candidates must have a recognized accounting qualification, with excellent Excel skills and a strong ability to work under pressure. This role offers a competitive monthly salary between RM6,500 and RM8,500.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a commercial environment preferred.
  • Full understanding of financial accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and post month-end journals, ensure trial balance accuracy.
  • Manage monthly maintenance income release and reconciliation.
  • Support treasury and accounts payable teams.
  • Ensure bank reconciliations are accurate and timely.
  • Monitor revenue and propose corrective action as needed.
  • Support cost centre managers in enhancing financial understanding.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations.
  • Involve in interim and annual audits.
  • Manage employee incentive schemes.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks to support the finance community.

Reporting To: FINANCIAL CONTROLLER HQ, UK & IRE

Compensation: RM6,500 - RM8,500 / month

Description

ROLE PURPOSE

To provide financial accounting and treasury support to the UK, IRELAND and regional teams to facilitate the achievement of business goals within budgeted resource levels and to enhance local decision-making processes through the proactive provision of financial analysis and interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate and post month end journals, be responsible for the trial balance accuracy and perform subsequent balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage the monthly maintenance income release, maintain an up to date reconciliation by contract and customer number.
  • Maintain the fixed assets register and IFRS16 lease reporting for UK & Ireland entity.
  • Support the treasury and accounts payable teams to ensure all invoices are accounted for correctly and make payments in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Bank reconciliations are up to date and accurate. Manage cashflow process.
  • Monitor revenue and overheads and, where appropriate, propose corrective action in relation to deviations against budget.
  • Support cost centre managers and help to enhance the financial understanding of division assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control systems and statutory financial regulations.
  • Intrinsic involvement in interim and annual audits.
  • Monitor and manage employee incentive schemes (including sales commission, bonus, and profit share).
  • AdHoc tasks as required to support the wider finance community.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Required Education and Qualifications
  • Education Level: High level of computer literacy; MS Office; specifically, Excel
  • Experience of working in a commercial environment (preferable)
  • Able to demonstrate a full understanding of all aspects of financial accounting, financial forecasting, budgeting and reporting
Qualifications
  • Qualified or actively studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA)
