Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Seberang Perai, Malaysia is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for performing preventive maintenance and supporting production personnel. Candidates must have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and at least 1–2 years of experience in maintenance. This role involves routine inspections, diagnosing equipment failures, and maintaining inventory levels. The ideal candidate will ensure the optimal availability of production equipment while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Carrying out machine preventive maintenance and overhaul timely according to plan/necessity to ensure the fullest availability of production equipment and utilities at optimum cost and under satisfactory conditions of quality, safety and protection of the environment.
  • Provide first level of response to production personnel in the support of existing and new equipment and/or processes to prevent unplanned downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspections of manufacturing process equipment to ensure all in tip‑top condition (daily checklist, weekly lubricating oil refill, safety devices functionality, etc.)
  • Diagnose cause of malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as required.
  • Carry out projects as assigned to improve equipment reliability, process stability, quality, safety and ergonomics.
  • Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt and preparing monthly inventory stock status report.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 1–2 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Preferably non‑executive specialized in engineering.
