Incorporated in 1962, Tasek Corporation Berhad (a member of Hong Leong Asia Ltd., Singapore) is one of the oldest integrated cement plant in Malaysia and commenced cement production in Ipoh, Perak in 1964 as Tasek Cement Limited. The annual rated production capacity was 250,000 tonnes before expanded the rated capacity to produce up to 2.3 million tonnes of clinker production per year.

The role involves assisting the Senior Team to plan and execute maintenance jobs for specified areas. Key aspects include:

Acquiring maintenance technical skills and ensuring jobs meet the best practice standard

Assisting the Senior Team to study production line shortfalls and propose improvements.

Actively involving oneself in predictive and preventive maintenance practices to achieve optimum plant operating efficiency and high availability of production facilities.

Job Responsibilities

Assisting the Senior Team in taking charge and ensuring smooth and efficient operations and management of the department.

Planning and carrying out regular periodical service, maintenance and casual repairs to the machinery and equipment in the plant and vehicles, in close co-ordination and co-operation with all production and supporting departments.

Fabricating new spare parts and reconditioning used components in the mechanical workshop.

Managing the mechanical workshop, its equipment and tools in proper control and condition.

Keeping inspection, maintenance and repair records of equipment, quality and other information of spares manufactured/reconditioned including records of labour, material costs and procedure with details in MAΧΙΜΟ.

Initiating and implementing corrective measures with a consensus between the production and supporting departments.

Planning, managing and supervising the mechanical contractor(s) engaged for undertaking jobs.

Providing technical support and services such as trouble-shooting, initial investigation, minor modifications to the machinery and components, to execute approved projects.

Utilizing subordinates effectively for the accomplishment of their respective missions/assignments.

Controlling requisition from supply department and procurement of goods/tools/materials to optimise maintenance cost.

Monitoring & managing the overtime activity carried out by the personnel under his charge.

Conducting investigation & reporting on the conditions of machinery before and after each major overhaul/repair.

Identifying the root cause of the failure and recommending improvement works to the availability of the plant, machinery and equipment.

Preparing a breakdown report, identifying the root cause of the failure and recommending the corrective action plan to avoid the occurrence of the same problem/failure.

Observing & adhering to company's policies and procedures at all times.

Adhering to Safety, Health & Environment procedures in all aspects of work.

Adhering to quality management requirements such as ISO, Total Quality Management, 5S, QPP, Poka Yoke and other company implemented quality standards.

Carrying out any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the superiors.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Working at least 1 year in mechanical repair work. Those from manufacturing background will have added advantages. Able to work in 3-shift rotation.
