Job summary

A leading engineering firm located in Ipoh, Malaysia is looking for an experienced Engineering professional to manage and improve equipment such as die attach bonders, wire bonders, and testers. The candidate will lead a team of technicians to drive cost-reduction initiatives and ensure compliance with ISO requirements. A bachelor's degree in Engineering and experience in networking and product development are required. This role is 100% onsite.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering professional to manage and improve equipment such as die attach bonders, wire bonders, welders, ovens, and testers. The role leads a team of technicians and drives cost‑reduction and process improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Advise on equipment maintenance and improvements for die attach bonders, wire bonders, welders, ovens, testers, etc.
  • Lead a group of technicians to achieve operational goals.
  • Identify, lead, and implement cost‑reduction activities.
  • Prepare and perform new equipment set‑up and buy‑off.
  • Ensure proper facilities are available for new equipment set‑up.
  • Liaise with equipment vendors to improve tool capability.
  • Provide feedback on equipment and material issues, make recommendations and offer solutions to ensure new products meet requirements.
  • Work with process engineers to prepare and update process documentation and work instructions for assembly line process and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the production team to improve yield and UPH of the assigned processes, including cost‑reduction activities.
  • Comply with ISO requirements, company rules & regulations, and applicable codes.
  • Derive continual improvement opportunities.
  • Practice risk‑based thinking in planning and execution of tasks.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree, professional degree or master’s in Engineering (Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Computer/Telecommunication or equivalent.
  • Experience in networking, test process or product transfer.
  • Familiarity with product development process and proven success in releasing products to production.
  • Understanding of basic test methodologies and ability to interpret electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience working with fiber‑optic/laser products.
