"Operate machines and equipment used in the manufacturing of products and will work with other employees to effectively meet or exceed expectations for product quality and production rates."

Responsibilities

• Machine operators must have a basic knowledge of how to set up, operate and maintain manufacturing machinery and equipment.
• Machine Operators must obtain a basic knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection techniques.
• Read and follow operating manuals, maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Load components materials into product specific tools.
• Follow established documentation for product manufacturing.
• Received customer supplied and/or purchased materials, including proper labeling, handling and movement of materials and paperwork.
• Documents all work performed on inspection reports and customer travelers/work orders and receiving/shipping documents.
• Maintain the segregation of conforming vs. non-conforming products.
• Prepare packages and paperwork for product/materials being shipped.
• Performs in-process inspection of all parts and/or assemblies in accordance with the requirements stated in the work order or as otherwise stated on drawings or work instructions.
• Performs visual inspection both unaided and using microscopes.
• Performs various dimensional inspection using specific dies or gauges, or dimensional inspection system and micrometers.
• Provides direction within the manufacturing cell to other Machine Operators assigned to assist them.
• Ability to perform basic manufacturing set up tasks.
• Performs additional duties as required under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager, Assistant Manufacturing Manager and Manufacturing Supervisor.
• Operate Machinery and equipment used in the manufacture of products.
• Ability to learn how to read drawings and blueprints with a limited ability to interpret information.

Education & Experience

• A minimum of SPM result.
• 1 year experience operating machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Working with cutting & machining fluids, lubricants and other hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety controls.
• Employee will be expected to attend safety training, serve on the facility safety committee and participate in hazard analysis and resolution.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent carrying, bending, standing, sitting and repetitive motion.
