- Develop and review plans, drawings, and specifications for M&E works.
- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to integrate M&E systems into the overall project plan.
- Plan and schedule M&E activities to align with project timelines and milestones.
2. Installation and Supervision
- Supervise and oversee the installation of mechanical and electrical systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical wiring.
- Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Monitor subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality and timeline standards.
3. Quality Control and Assurance
- Inspect and test M&E systems and components to verify functionality, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
- Identify defects or non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Maintain proper documentation for quality control and system performance records.
4. Safety Compliance
- Ensure all M&E installations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
5. Problem-Solving and Technical Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to M&E systems during the installation and commissioning phases.
- Provide technical support and recommendations to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with consultants and designers to address site-specific challenges.
6. Testing, Commissioning, and Handover
- Oversee the testing and commissioning of all M&E systems to ensure they meet design intent and operational requirements.
- Prepare and review handover documentation, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and certifications.
7. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of M&E works, including progress reports, inspection reports, and material approvals.
- Report to the project manager on M&E-related activities, including risks, delays, and proposed solutions.
- Track and monitor material usage and inventory for M&E works on site.
8. Cost and Budget Management
- Work with the project team to manage M&E budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions are implemented.
- Review and verify contractor claims and variations related to M&E works.
- Propose value engineering solutions to reduce costs without compromising quality.
9. Sustainability and Innovation
- Promote the use of energy-efficient and sustainable M&E systems.
- Explore innovative technologies to enhance project outcomes and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in M&E works, preferably in construction site environments.
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools for reviewing M&E drawings.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to manage teams and liaise with stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Relevant certifications in safety, M&E systems, or project management are a plus.
