Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and detail‑oriented Freight Manager who is proficient in Mandarin to manage all freight operations at Eastfound Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The ideal candidate will oversee planning, coordination, and execution of freight operations to ensure cost‑effective, timely, and efficient logistics management while ensuring compliance and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Freight Operations Management

• Plan, organize, and manage all freight‑related activities, including import and export shipments.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers to ensure smooth operations.
• Oversee the scheduling and tracking of shipments to ensure timely delivery.

Cost and Budget Control

• Develop cost‑effective freight solutions and negotiate competitive rates with service providers.
• Monitor and manage freight budgets, ensuring expenses align with company objectives.
• Analyze freight costs and recommend strategies to optimize operations.

Compliance and Documentation

• Ensure all freight operations comply with local and international trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
• Oversee the preparation and review of necessary documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs clearance forms.

Supplier and Stakeholder Coordination

• Maintain strong relationships with logistics providers, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Resolve any issues or delays in the freight process by collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
• Manage and mentor a team of logistics and freight personnel, ensuring optimal performance and professional growth.
• Conduct regular training sessions to improve team knowledge on freight operations and compliance.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for freight and logistics operations.
• Prepare regular reports on freight activities, costs, and performance metrics for management review.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in freight management, logistics, or supply chain roles, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
• Fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) is essential for coordinating with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and freight operations.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
