A logistics company in Malaysia is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to manage import and export activities, coordinate with freight forwarders, and ensure customer satisfaction. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain or logistics, preferably within a chemical or manufacturing environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong knowledge in customs clearance, freight coordination, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. The role includes various duties to support operational excellence.
Import & Export Operations: Manage all import and export activities including shipment scheduling, documentation, customs clearance, and coordination with authorities to ensure full regulatory compliance.
Freight & Transportation Coordination: Coordinate air and sea shipments with freight forwarders and couriers, monitor delivery status, and resolve delays to meet business and customer commitments.
Customer Service & Relationship Management: Act as a primary contact for customer inquiries regarding shipments, delivery schedules, and documentation; resolve issues efficiently while maintaining high service standards and customer satisfaction.
Inventory & Supply Planning Support: Process material requests and support inventory planning in line with forecasts, production schedules, and customer demand to ensure stock accuracy and continuity.
Billing, Documentation & Customer Service: Handle logistics billing, cost verification, and shipping documents while providing timely shipment updates and delivery support to stakeholders and customers.
Quality, Compliance & ISO Support: Support ISO implementation and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with chemical safety, handling, storage, and transportation regulations.
Data Integrity & Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all operational, commercial, and customer information.
General & Ad-Hoc Duties: Perform other logistics and operational tasks as required to support business operations.
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Management, or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of working experience in Supply Chain or Logistics, preferably in a chemical, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, customs clearance, and freight coordination.
Experience in customer service or stakeholder management is preferred.
Import & Export Operations Management – Expertise in handling shipments, customs clearance, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
Freight & Transportation Coordination – Ability to manage logistics partners, track shipments, and proactively resolve delays.
Logistics Documentation & Billing – Accuracy and efficiency in shipping documents, invoicing, and cost verification.
Customer Service Excellence – Ability to provide proactive updates, respond to inquiries, resolve delivery issues, and maintain high customer satisfaction.
Attention to Detail – Ensures error-free documentation, compliance, and inventory management.
Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – Quickly resolves shipment, inventory, or operational issues.
Sense of Urgency & Accountability – Prioritizes tasks effectively to meet deadlines and business commitments.
Communication & Team Collaboration – Works effectively across departments and with external partners for smooth logistics operations.
