Job summary

A logistics company in Pontian is seeking a professional to manage customs documentation and clearance, ensuring compliance with regulations in Malaysia. Responsibilities include coordinating shipments, maintaining records, and generating reports on import/export activities. Qualifications

Job description

Prepare and submit customs declarations for all inbound and outbound shipments in compliance with national customs regulations.

Prepare and submit custom documentation for disposal of asset in compliance with local statutory regulation and Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW).

Prepare and submit documentation for sub‑con.

Application for new HS code for raw materials, Finished Goods, or sub‑con.

Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies to facilitate clearance.

Verify HS codes, Incoterms, and product classification for all goods.

Ensure timely payment of duties and taxes to avoid delays or penalties.

Job Responsibilities
  • Customs Documentation & Clearance
    • Prepare and submit customs declarations for all inbound and outbound shipments in compliance with national customs regulations.
    • Prepare and submit custom documentation for disposal of asset in compliance with local statutory regulation and Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW).
    • Prepare and submit documentation for sub‑con.
    • Application for new HS code for raw materials, Finished Goods, or sub‑con.
    • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies to facilitate clearance.
    • Verify HS codes, Incoterms, and product classification for all goods.
    • Ensure timely payment of duties and taxes to avoid delays or penalties.
  • Logistics Coordination
    • Coordinate shipment schedules with suppliers, warehouses, and transport partners.
    • Track cargo movements and ensure timely delivery and clearance.
    • Address any discrepancies or delays with customs or freight agents.
    • Co‑ordination with custom agents on the clearance, documentation, ad hoc issue.
    • Source for freight forwarder and agents when required.
  • Compliance & Audits
    • Maintain accurate records of all customs documentation and declarations.
    • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and company policies.
    • Assist in customs audits and provide required documentation.
    • Support external and internal audit.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Generate regular reports on import/export activities, clearance times, and duty/tax costs.
    • Prepare and submission of LMW monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting.
    • Provide monthly and ad‑hoc reports to management and regulatory bodies.
    • Review and update the LMW layout plan time to time.
    • Any other adhoc matters.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in logistics, with solid knowledge of LMW operations.
  • Familiar with Malaysian customs procedures, MITI permits, and LMW documentation.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, SAP system.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Require travel to Custom and related departments for documentation submission and coordination.
  • Willing to work at Pontian area.
