About the job: Loan Operation Team Leader
Job Summary
Responsible for overall loan operations management and supervision of the loan operations staff. This includes the preparation of loan files for credit review, managing customer contract signings and disbursements of loans. Additionally the department handles inbound customer inquiries and works closely with the sales team to ensure the loan applications meet all the policy requirements.
Job Description
- Manage application input in the loan system and verification procedures for all loan applications. Maintain workflows for all stages of loan input.
- Lead, train and supervise the operations staff to ensure the department meets organizational goals.
- Audit loan operation activity, review daily reports for accuracy, and prepare monthly and/or quarterly reports as required.
- Contact clients to gather financial data and documentation to complete loan applications.
- Perform employment verification for loan applicants through various methods.
- Calculate financial ratios and obtain credit reports to complete the loan file ready for credit review.
- Handle inbound calls and customer inquiries; set up payment plans and maintain updated records of loan applications.
- Input customer payments daily into loan system and prepare weekly reconciliation reports.
- Manage the complete loan contract process from managing appointments with customers to obtaining stamp duty and returning contracts to customers.
- Work closely with telesales and collections teams to ensure sales and recovery targets are met.
- Maintain customer confidence by keeping loan information confidential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Open for Malaysian citizens only.
- Minimum 8 years experience in the banking or consumer lending industry.
- Must have 5 years of operations team leader experience.
- Solid knowledge of Malaysian consumer lending industry regulations, procedures and financial documentation.
- Knowledge of inbound and outbound call centre operations.
- Detailed knowledge of lending products (personal loan, hire purchase or mortgage).
- Knowledge of Bank Negara and KPKT lending regulations.
- Ability to handle confidential data in an ethical and professional manner.
- Experience working with digital financial systems.
- Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple projects and possessing effective interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
- Establishes and nurtures relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal.
- Ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership with the ability to motivate staff and produce a high performing team.
