Job description

Our client is a well‑established large‑scale catering and food services company headquartered in Bangi, Selangor, with operation across multiple sectors, including private, corporate, and government‑linked projects. They are looking to appoint a In‑house Legal Manager / Senior Executive (1 year renewable contract) to lead the company’s legal, compliance, and contractual affairs.

Job Summary

The Legal Manager is responsible for providing in‑house legal advisory and compliance support across company operations, with particular focus on contracts, regulatory compliance, risk management, employment matters, and dispute management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a range of legal documents including, but not limited to: Catering and service contracts, Government and institutional agreements, Vendor and supplier contracts, NDAs, MOUs, SLAs, and tenancy agreements
  • Provide legal advice to management on contract interpretation, risks, and obligations
  • Identify legal risks across operations and recommend mitigation measures
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian laws and regulations, and monitor regulatory changes and advise management on legal impact and necessary actions
  • Advise HR and management on employment matters, such as Employment contracts and policies, disciplinary actions and terminations, Industrial relations and dispute handling etc.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel, Industrial Court, or relevant authorities when required
  • Maintain legal records, corporate documents, licenses, and permits
  • Support board resolutions, company secretarial matters, and compliance filings (in coordination with external company secretary).
Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in‑house legal role, or legal practice with exposure to corporate, commercial, or employment law.
  • Experience handling government, institutional, or GLC-related contracts will be an added advantage.
  • Exposure in F&B, catering, facilities management is highly advantageous.
  • Possess strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills
  • Possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
