Job Title and Location

Legal & Contract Manager (Ref.No. R1011111)

Location: Kuala‑Lumpur, Malaysia (On‑Site)

Responsibilities
  • Legal & Contract Management support to Hitachi Rail Malaysia
  • Responsible for drafting, negotiating, preparing and managing commercial contracts (e.g. procurement and supplier contracts, service agreements, letters of intent, MOU, NDA, etc.) and company templates (Sales & Purchase T&Cs) to be executed from proposal to completion of projects, including partnerships and supply chain.
  • Will be involved in the entire project cycle, from tender to post‑contract stage, focused mainly on providing contractual review and advice to various stakeholders.
  • Will be required to work on multiple projects and bids.
  • Work closely with the Project Managers and Bid Managers for the assigned projects and bids.
  • Work closely with clients, partners and subcontractors as support to the bid/project teams in managing matters relating to contract agreements, NDAs, and different team agreements aligning these to GTS’ accepted policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for enlightening the bid/project teams on doubts they may have related to bid, project and business agreements.
  • Work closely with the project team in the end‑to‑end management of claims (including logs, gap identification, etc.), EOT and variation as well as the preparation of monthly progress reports.
  • Responsible for continuously monitoring contract deliverables and project milestones to avoid any delay and project risks.
  • Attend bids and project meetings.
Qualifications
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience in commercial and public procurement legal work in an international context (company or law firm) with exposure to both domestic and international commercial contracts.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and data protection laws will be considered an asset.
  • Relevant contract negotiation and drafting skills; excellent communication and writing abilities.
  • Team player who communicates easily and efficiently, works independently, and manages workload and priorities efficiently.
  • Approachable, pragmatic and creative.
  • Good IT knowledge is appreciated.
