Legal Associate (Secretarial)/Assistant Company Secretary/ Account, Tax & Audit

Responsibilities:

  • Handling and attending meetings for Companies including Annual General Meetings, Extraordinary General Meetings, Board of Directors meetings, preparing minutes of meetings, and extracting minutes of meetings.
  • Preparing statutory documents and forms (circular resolutions, SSM Forms, etc).
  • Preparing and ensuring proper submissions and lodgment of statutory documents for SSM.
  • Liaise with SSM and other related bodies with regard to companies matters.
  • Incorporating new companies.
  • Updating and maintaining proper statutory records.
  • Liaise with clients with regards to their companies under Companies Act 2016.
  • Prepare and maintain full set of accounts for clients (including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliation).
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and documented.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with MFRS/IFRS.
  • Support clients in budget preparation, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
  • Conduct statutory audits for a portfolio of clients in various industries.
  • Perform audit fieldwork including testing of controls, verification of documents, and analytical reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with approved auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare audit working papers and draft audit reports.
  • Identify audit findings and communicate them clearly to clients and audit seniors/managers.
  • Maintain good communication and relationships with clients.
  • Provide prompt responses to clients’ accounting, audit, and tax-related inquiries.
  • Coordinate with relevant authorities such as LHDN, SSM, and EPF/SOCSO when required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • MAICSA/LS from recognized universities and other certificate equivalent (advantage).
  • Minimum 5 - 10 years experience.
  • Passion and positive attitude towards the profession is a Must.
  • Able to multi-task, punctual, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Able to travel to meetings.
  • Bachelor in Accounting or Equivalent.
