Responsibilities
- To undertake teaching duties and the associated functions of preparation, assessment, moderation and curriculum development.
- Assigned with not more than 252 contact hours per 4‑month block; workload may be revised by management with remuneration accordingly.
- Responsible for the development of learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.
- Upload and update content into the Online Learning Management System.
- Develop and assign quizzes, assignments, tutorials, projects, tests, oral presentations, etc.
- Monitor attendance and progress of students.
- Provide academic as well as pastoral advice to students.
- Be available for academic counselling.
- Provide extra help and guidance to weak students.
- Provide a high degree of commitment towards student engagement, individual development and graduate success.
- Supervise student projects, field trips and, where appropriate, placements.
- Responsible for the development, administration and marking of exams and other assessments.
- Produce, collate and moderate quality exam papers.
- Invigilate class tests and final exams ensuring a proper examination environment.
- Prevent academic dishonesty.
- Responsible for the development, planning and implementation of a high‑quality curriculum.
- Participate in ongoing curriculum, syllabus and course structure reviews through Subject Specialist Groups (SSG).
- Participate in developing and driving new pedagogical approaches supported by online learning and real‑life industry projects.
- Recommend and develop new programs supported by market data including competitive intelligence.
- Collaborate with the faculty/centre for operational planning, including workload planning, timetabling, student retention programmes and institutional development activities and compliance matters.
Research, Scholarship & Consultancy
- Participate and contribute to research, scholarly activity and/or innovation approved by the University.
- Develop and diversify links with external contacts such as other educational bodies, businesses, the public sector and professional bodies to foster collaboration, secure student placement and build relationships for future activities.
Other Tasks
- Work in collaboration with sales & marketing to achieve targeted student enrolment, including organising school talks, open days, programme previews and academic counselling.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
Role Requirements
Education/Academic Qualification:
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
- Registered with MMC and holds a valid Practising Certificate (APC).
- Preferred / Additional Qualifications: Postgraduate degree (e.g., Master’s in Medical Sciences, Clinical Specialty).
- Clinical experience (typically 1–3 years post‑housemanship).
- PhD for teaching and research‑intensive roles.
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board (MNB) / Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia.
- Preferred / Additional Qualifications: Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare‑related field.
- Clinical experience in a relevant nursing field (1–3 years recommended).
- Teaching experience or familiarity with nursing curriculum and assessments.
Other Requirements:
- Teaching permit or institutional approval if required.
- Compliance with MQA / MOHE regulations.
- For expatriates: valid work pass and teaching permit.
