Job summary

A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Agronomy or related fields is required, alongside proven experience in agronomic research, excellent analytical skills, and strong communication abilities. In line with our business expansion, we would like to invite qualified candidates to fill the following position at FGV R&D Sdn Bhd.

Key Accountabilities
  • Design, conduct, and lead agronomic trials focused on nutrition, fertilizer, moisture, and soil studies.

  • Detect and diagnose nutrient deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

  • Identify soil nutritional levels for crop optimization.

  • Analyze data and produce technical reports and recommendations.

  • Evaluate and recommend technologies for irrigation and soil improvement.

  • Plan and manage fertilizer application trials and agronomic evaluations for pest and disease management.

  • Conduct feasibility studies for irrigation/fertigation systems in nurseries and field blocks.

  • Design and implement hydraulic systems, including pipe routing, pump selection, and filtration systems.

  • Advise planters or estate operation to make proper irrigation layout and management for various type of crops.

  • Execute multi‑location trials on fertilizer efficiency, organic amendments, and nutrient recycling (e.g., EFB, POME).

Qualifications and Working Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Agronomy or Soil Science or Agricultural Engineering, or related fields.

  • Proven experience in agronomic research, especially in oil palm or plantation crops.

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

  • Practical knowledge of irrigation, fertigation, and soil‑water management systems.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and report‑writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field and research environments.

Technical Skills

Proficient in MS Offices, Statistical Analysis.

Have an ability to propose irrigation layout using manual or related software.
