Lead/Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Grinding and CMP polishing)

To manage, sustain and improve a highly complex materials manufacturing process in an industrial environment by applying problem solving skills, statistically analysis methods, 6sigma tools and other quality tools. Ensures process yields, product performance, quality, cost, supply chain and safety are aligned to or exceed department goals.

What You Will Do
  1. Responsible for ensuring stable grinding and CMP polishing processes.
  2. Full process ownership on quality, yield, defect containment, process capability and stability, cost, CpK and other related KPIs.
  3. Perform process window study using standard tools like DOE approach and material / equipment assessment to optimize process in term of cost, and quality.
  4. Responsible for process development / optimization to improve process quality and reliability.
  5. Establish optimum process and provide support to train operations team.
  6. Develop equipment / material specification for assigned processes, including reject and acceptance criteria.
  7. Lead process transfer, material cost down, process & tool qualification and ramp related projects.
  8. Lead and drive Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) to enable cost reduction, capacity expansion, yield and performance enhancement to enable the production of Best-In-Class LED chips at competitive cost.
  9. Create and maintain documentation, certification & compliance of procedure in assigned functional areas according to safety & quality standard to meet legal & customer requirements.
  10. Perform risk assessment and derive necessary control to keep process stable. Owner of PFMEA, control plan and working instruction.
What You Will Bring (Required Qualifications)
  • Skills in grinding and polishing knowledges and experiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of process machine architectures, machine performance measures and designs.
  • Hands‑on knowledge in ceramic substrate material removal will be an advantage.
  • Problem solving oriented, strong analytical mind and interpersonal skills.
  • Skills in statistical analysis tools, 8D problem solving, SPC, FMEA and DMAIC.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, Minitab and JMP.
  • Initiative and able to work under minimum supervision.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prefer if possess minimum knowledge in optical characteristics of LED and color control.
