JOBRESPONSIBILITIES:

High Voltage (HT) Operations & Maintenance

• Perform HT switching, isolation, earthing and restoration according to Energy
• Lead all maintenance activities for HT equipment including transformers, HV, switchgear, VCB/ACB, NER, protection relays and metering systems.
• Inspect and ensure proper functioning of all HT/LV equipment.
• Maintain protection relay settings, testing records and ensure proper coordination.
• Monitor transformer performance, insulation resistance, earth resistance and load distribution.

Electrical Distribution System Management

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of LV systems including MDB, SMDB, MCC, capacitor banks and distribution panels.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults, power failures, voltage fluctuations and equipment malfunction.
• Ensure reliability and efficiency of electrical distribution for building operations.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and supervise the electrical team in preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Provide technical guidance, scheduling, task assignment and monitoring performance.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors and utility providers (TNB).

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with Energy Commission (ST), Suruhanjaya Tenaga regulations and electrical safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of switching logs, testing reports, PM activities and incident reports.
• Coordinate with authorities for inspections, audits and renewal of licenses (A4/BOC charge man).
• Ensure strict adherence to permit-to-work (PTW) systems and electrical lock-out/tagout (LOTO).
• Identify electrical hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Respond to electrical emergencies and provide immediate troubleshooting and recovery.

Budget & Asset Management

• Provide input for electrical maintenance budgets, spare parts planning and equipment upgrades.
• Support energy-saving initiatives and improve system reliability.

Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with OH&S policies and electrical safety regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, toolbox meetings and safety briefings for electrical team.
• Ensure safe handling of HT/LV equipment, PPE usage and emergency procedures.
• Report incidents and unsafe conditions according to company SOPs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong knowledge of HT/LV electrical systems, protection systems and safety regulations.
• At least 5 years’ experience in operation and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems.
• Preferably experienced in facility management environments.
• Skilled in HT switching, isolation and restoration procedures.
• Able to diagnose electrical faults and perform protection system testing.
• Experienced with HV/LV switchgears, transformers, ACB/VCB, UPS and generators.
• Familiar with ST regulations, LOTO and PTW safety compliance.
• Able to prepare technical reports and maintenance documentation.
• Capable of supervising contractors and project activities.
• Proficient in using testing instruments (IR tester, relay tester, earth tester, multimeter).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and leadership skills.
• Detail-oriented, safety-focused and able to handle pressure and emergency situations.
• Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, accountability and strong teamwork skills.
