A local testing laboratory in Penang is looking for a lab technician for field and laboratory testing of construction materials. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, be able to work independently, and have knowledge of soil and concrete testing. • Experience in ISO/IEC17025 Accredited Lab is advantageous.
• Ability to perform a variety of soil and concrete testing.
• Good record-keeping in accordance with standards.

Job description

Overview

Conduct field and laboratory testing, inspections, and observations of construction materials including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic laboratory test as per accordance with approved test method or procedures.
• Assist Laboratory Manager in carrying out laboratory testing, method development and compliance with QA/QC requirement.
• Ensure all relevant raw data or test information are correctly and accurately recorded in the provided raw data sheet or manual logbook.
• To perform testing at laboratory and project sites.
• Support laboratory functions.
• Having knowledge of carrying out the full range of soil & concrete testing works required in construction sites.
• Any ad hoc duties as required by Lab Manager/Superior from time to time.

Requirements

• Can work independently with minimum supervision.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Able to interact with local authorities, consultants, contractors, and all level staffs.
• Experience of working in ISO/IEC17025 Accredited Lab will be at advantage.
• Nationality Preferred Malaysians Only
