Job summary

A leading construction firm in Malaysia is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage tendering activities, prepare progress claims, and coordinate with subcontractors. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field and have strong knowledge in tendering procedures. Excellent communication and coordination skills are essential. This position offers an opportunity for fresh graduates as well as those with relevant experience to contribute to exciting projects.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in construction preferred, fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Job description

Diligently perform duties assigned by management or superiors as required.

Manage tendering activities for new projects, including quantity take-off and rate breakdowns.

Prepare and submit monthly progress claims accurately and on time.

Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams to handle tendering, contract, and claim matters.

Establish and maintain proper claim systems with joint measurement at site.

Verify and certify subcontractor and supplier claims in a timely manner.

Monitor project costs and overhead expenses, alerting the Project Manager of any budget deviations.

Assist the Project Manager and Contract Manager in budget analysis and resource planning.

Review, study, and ensure full understanding of the Client’s contract terms and conditions.

Job Requirement

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.

Preferrable with 1-2 years of relevant experience in construction. Fresh graduate is encouraged to apply.

Strong knowledge of tendering procedures, contract administration, and progress claim processes.

Proficient in measurement, costing, and budget control.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.

Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to meet tight deadlines.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft,etc.).
