Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student with special needs, in collaboration with parents, therapists, and other relevant professionals.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic growth of all students, adapting teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess students' skills and progress regularly using a variety of methods, including observation, formal assessments, and informal assessments, to track their development and adjust IEP goals as needed.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote positive social interactions, working closely with behavior therapists and parents to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with therapists (e.g., speech therapist, occupational therapist, psychologist) to integrate therapeutic interventions into the classroom setting and support students' overall development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, IEP goals, and communication with parents and other professionals, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress, discuss concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support learning and development at home.
