We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Junior Immigration Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of immigration laws and procedures, exceptional client service skills, and the ability to manage complex cases with accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Immigration Case Management
- Handle foreign worker employment processes including new applications, renewals, cancellations, and work permit submissions.
- Coordinate all requirements from initial consultation to visa issuance, including eligibility assessments, technical advisory drafts, and document preparation.
- Review, organize, and file all immigration and supporting documents in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a clear overview of all ongoing cases, ensuring efficient follow-up, timely escalations, and proactive management of expiry timelines.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Provide expert consultation to clients regarding visa applications, renewals, and company licensing documentation requirements.
- Issue weekly updates to clients and internal stakeholders on the status of immigration cases.
- Respond to client enquiries and provide updates via reports including Work In Progress, Client Master, and internal consultant logs.
- Coordinate with payroll teams on visa status updates and payroll arrangement, particularly for onboarding expatriate employees in their first month.
Compliance & Government Liaison
- Ensure strict compliance with local labor laws, immigration policies, and industry regulations applicable to foreign worker employment.
- Liaise with relevant government authorities (e.g., Immigration Department, MyXpats, SOCSO) to facilitate permit and visa applications.
- Act as the primary contact for legal and regulatory matters relating to business and employment immigration issues.
Administrative & Operational Excellence
- Prepare and issue billing requests upon completion of documentation collation, prior to submission to authorities.
- Provide timely reminders to clients on document expirations and initiate renewal processes proactively.
- Conduct in-depth research on client-specific immigration scenarios to support strategic case management.

- Collaborate effectively across departments, including payroll, HR, and legal compliance units.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Law, International Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in immigration consulting or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in case management systems and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines under pressure.
- Experience dealing with corporate immigration and high-volume caseloads is a plus.
