Job summary

A leading financial services provider in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Junior Financial Reporting Analyst to support the Group Financial Reporting team in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports. The role involves month-end and year-end closing activities, preparation of management accounts, and assisting with statutory reporting. Job description

A Junior Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for supporting the Group Financial Reporting team in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all financial reports. The role covers the month-end, quarter-end, year-end closing activities. The role also involves supporting statutory reporting and regulatory submissions to authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries posting and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts with high-level variance analysis and commentary.
  • Assist in the preparation of various financial reports and support internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in statutory reporting and regulatory submissions to BNM, ISM, PIAM, LFSA, and other relevant authorities.
  • Support external audits through preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and responses to auditor queries.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., actuarial, pricing, and product teams) by providing relevant financial data and insights.
  • Assist in enhancing financial reporting processes, internal controls, and system improvements (e.g., SAP B1).
  • Perform any other ad-hoc assignments as required.
Requirements
  • Holds at least an Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or Professional Qualification in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with SAP B1 or other financial systems will be an added advantage.
  • Preferred 1 of relevant working experience, preferably in financial reporting, accounting, or auditing (Open to fresh graduates).
