Job summary

A food manufacturing company in Selangor is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage full sets of accounts ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in Accounting or Finance and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, overseeing account payable and receivable, and conducting financial analysis. Benefits include annual leave, medical leave, and participation in EPF/SOCSO/EIS. Work hours are 8 am to 5 pm (Mon-Fri) and 8 am to 1 pm (Sat).

Possess a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proficient in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in accounting roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Proficient in managing full sets of accounts, including Account Payable (AP) and Account Receivable (AR).

Experience in preparing and analyzing financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Strong budgeting and forecasting skills, with the ability to develop and monitor budgets effectively.

Proficiency in using ABSS Accounting Software for daily accounting tasks and financial reporting.

Solid understanding of inventory management principles and practices.

Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently.

Experience in managing cash flow and ensuring adequate liquidity for the company.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision‑making.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Able to commit to 6 working days with working hours from 8.00am to 5.00pm (Mon‑Fri) and 8.00am to 1.00pm (Sat).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Oversee account payable and account receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances and identify any discrepancies.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Perform financial analysis and reporting to support decision‑making, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting.
  • Manage inventory, ensuring accurate records and efficient stock control.
  • Utilize ABSS Accounting software to manage accounting functions and generate reports.
  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit inquiries.
