Job summary

A leading hotel group in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a Junior Accountant. This full-time role is essential for supporting hotel accounting functions, including maintaining financial records and assisting with both accounts payable and receivable. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the hotel sector. This position is open to Malaysian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

Summary

The Junior Accountant reports directly to the Assistant Director of Finance and plays a key role in supporting all hotel accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general cashier, income audit, and financial reporting.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records and post journal entries.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Support income audit and cost audit functions, and assist with inventory spot checks.
  • Contribute to monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytical reviews of significant account balances.
  • Assist in preparation of month-end closing procedures and reports.
  • Review expense claims and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Handle inquiries from guests, clients, vendors, and external auditors.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by superiors.
Qualifications
  • Due to work permit restrictions, this position is only open for Malaysian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Malaysia
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience, hotel accounting preferred
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, agile with change.
