Job Opportunity – Offshore Temporary Crane Operator
About the Job:-
- Operate hydraulic and electro‑hydraulic cranes of capacity up to 30MT for material/cargo and personnel lift safely.
- Perform the first line maintenance, daily inspections and general upkeep of the cranes.
- Supervise deck crew on slinging, rigging, lifting operations, scaffolding work, general/menial work and liaise with banksman in interpreting hand and verbal signal.
- Maintain the crane logs and keep track of critical components such as wire ropes, limit switches and load indicator.
- Administer and coordinate all materials/spare parts/consumables and the store on platform (responsible to verify and approve orders delivered from Miri).
- Support production and maintenance section as required.
- Check firefighting appliances provided on the crane prior to lifting execution job.
Qualification
- Possess minimum of a Professional Certificate or technical certificate and a crane operations qualification/training (for crane up to 30MT) from a recognised body or equivalent qualification in related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Oil and Gas.
- Valid Offshore Safety Passport and Medical approved by PETRONAS Approved Medical Examiner (AME).
- Knowledgeable on the working of the crane.
- Satisfactory completion of a recognised slinging & rigging course.
Core Competencies
- Must be competent to operate hydraulic and electro‑hydraulic cranes of capacity up to 30MT for material/cargo and personnel lift.
- Must thoroughly understand the load chart, hand signals and safety requirements of offshore crane operations.
- Must be well versed in the correct and proper usage/maintenance of lifting tools such as slings, shackles, spread bars, hooks and etc.
- Must have reasonable command of spoken and written English.
- Able to handle high‑stress situations such as operating the crane while making critical lift (e.g., transferring personnel, making heavy non‑routine lifts).
- Must be fit to participate in physical activities such as leading rescue and firefighting activities in the event of a helicopter crash emergency on the platform as HLO, physically fit to lift or carry small load up to 10kg.
