A technology recruitment platform in Malaysia is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide first-level support for hardware and software issues. Responsibilities include responding to helpdesk tickets, assisting in troubleshooting, maintaining documentation of IT issues, and supporting IT projects. Provide first-level support to users on hardware, software, network, and system issues.
Respond to IT helpdesk tickets and ensure timely resolution.
Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, including remote troubleshooting via phone or email.
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.).
Ensure software updates, patches, and antivirus definitions are current.
Assist in maintaining an inventory of hardware and software assets.
Support basic network setup and maintenance (e.g., LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity).
Monitor system performance and report irregularities to senior IT staff.
Assist in managing user accounts and access permissions (Active Directory, email, etc.).
Maintain documentation of support issues and resolutions.
Assist in updating IT policies, procedures, and user guides.
Prepare reports on IT support activities and inventory updates.
Support IT infrastructure projects such as hardware rollouts, system migrations, and upgrades.
Participate in testing and deployment of new tools and systems under supervision.
Help monitor compliance with IT security policies.
Report any suspected security incidents to senior IT personnel.
