Overview

As a IT Pre-Sales Engineer plays a more proactive role in customer engagement, technical solutioning, and driving the pre-sales process. This role involves a balance of technical expertise and business acumen, ensuring customer needs are met with well- designed solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to gather in-depth customer requirements.
  • Conduct workshops, demos, and Proof of Concept (PoC) sessions.
  • Address technical objections and concerns raised by customers.
  • Work closely with account managers to build strong client relationships.
  • Design customized IT solutions across networking, cloud, security, and enterprise IT.
  • Create high-level and detailed solution architectures.
  • Work with internal engineering and implementation teams to ensure solution feasibility.
  • Support sales teams by providing in-depth technical expertise during pitches.
  • Prepare compelling presentations and white papers on proposed solutions.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to position solutions effectively.
  • Take ownership of drafting detailed technical proposals for RFPs and RFIs.
  • Work with procurement teams to align solutions with budget constraints.
  • Provide technical input for pricing and licensing models.
  • Work with vendor partners (Cisco, Palo Alto, Huawei, AWS, etc.) to ensure up-to-date solution offerings.
  • Train junior pre-sales engineers and share best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, obtaining certifications like AWS Solutions Architect, CCNP, PCNSE, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in a pre-sales, technical support, or solution engineering role.
