Job summary

A technology service company in Malaysia is seeking an IT support specialist to provide first-level technical support, manage and maintain IT equipment, and oversee VPN access and security. Job description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, networking, VPN, and internet connectivity issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems, email, office applications, and company software.
  • Manage, configure, and support VPN access for remote users and site-to-site connections.
  • Maintain and monitor servers, storage, backups, and network devices (switches, routers, firewalls).
  • Ensure IT security standards are followed (antivirus, firewall, VPN, patch updates, access control).
  • Manage user accounts, email accounts, and system access permissions.
  • Document IT processes, incidents, and resolutions for future reference.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for IT equipment procurement, warranty claims, ISP support, and outsourced services.
  • Support company projects requiring IT input (system upgrades, VPN setup, cloud migration, etc.)
  • Provide training or guidance to staff on IT best practices and system usage.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience in IT support or system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, networking (LAN/WAN), internet troubleshooting, and VPN solutions (S2S / P2S & remote access).
  • Experience in troubleshooting hardware (PCs, laptops, printers, routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Familiar with data backup and recovery solutions.
  • Good understanding of IT security and cybersecurity awareness.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Office located in Indahpura Kulai (candidates must be able to attend office when required (remote / hybrid options can be discussed during interview)).
Added Advantage:
  • Hands-on experience with VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN, WireGuard, OpenVPN).
  • Knowledge and experience in Active Directory (user/group management, GPO, domain services).
  • Experience with cloud services (Microsoft Azure, Google Workspace, or AWS).
  • Practical experience in router configuration, wireless access points (AP), and wireless access controllers (AC).
