Job summary

Job description

Responsible for the overall process relevant to HC and forming business partnerships with internal customers to support their HC-related functions, while also overseeing routine HC Operations.

Job Responsibilities
Operation Support
  • Interprets pay policies, e.g., LOA, workers compensation, government, and statutory regulations, withholding exemptions, etc., and attends to all associates HC related enquiries
  • Assists with audits of internal records, workers compensation, tax filings, related documentation. Performs audits.
  • Manages transportation
  • Manages plant onboarding and offboarding process if required.
  • Carries out all other activities/assignments as and when required.
Human Capital and Business Partner
  • Coordinates and executes key benefits events at plant level
  • Consults with business leaders on talent, leadership, business strategy, organization development, rewards, and culture.
  • Identifies and shares root causes of human resources issues with relevant HC function to shape global HC programs and policies.
  • Scans and benchmarks the marketplace to identify and leverage best practices and trends to influence the business and HC agenda.
  • Is viewed as a strategic business partner and change agent.
  • Develops and drives company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., rewards and recognition review, workforce planning, culture, and organizational change).
  • Manages escalations and dispute resolutions through company programs and policies.
  • Carries out all other activities/assignments as and when required.
Human Capital IR Specialist
  • Plans, develops and implements human resources activities/services in accordance with company policies, objectives and goals; serves as an advisor to management on matters relating to employees.
  • Coordinates employee relations activities.
  • Assists with implementation of corporate and local policies and procedures.
  • Provides technical guidance and expertise to management personnel regarding policies, procedures and problems affecting employee relations.
  • Assists in administration of Company policies and procedures, including the disciplinary action program and maintains disciplinary action database.
  • Is responsible for labor relations functions and maintaining necessary activities that promote proper Union/Management relations.
  • Ensures legal and policy compliance for all issues pertaining to employee and labor relations.
  • Provides timely communication to supervisors and JCC personnel regarding new initiatives and policies, including relevant regulatory updates; works closely with managers and supervisors to monitor and communicate all phases of employment-related issues, contractual interpretations, labor relations issues, and past practices.
  • Provides direction and assistance to Human Resources professionals regarding labor and human resources matters.
  • Manages the development, interpretation and application of company policies, procedures, labor relations, contract administration, grievance handling, employee counseling, and discipline.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum Diploma in Business, HR Administration, HR Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in general HC administration at a similar level.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of HC management practices, local labor law and industrial relations principles.
  • Has conducted or is able to conduct in-house training on basic HC topics.
  • Working knowledge of Kaizen, Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing activities is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong oral and written proficiency in both English and Malay language.
  • Mature personality with leadership skills.
  • Pro‑active and forward‑looking in anticipating business challenges.
  • Strong people skills, especially in communication, motivation and handling difficult individuals.
  • Understands typical HC indicators and can prepare analytical reports on related issues.
  • Can conduct coaching and counseling for employees at different levels.
  • Can evaluate and develop personnel for organizational and career growth.
  • Fills non‑managerial open positions within set timeline.
  • Provides effective and timely support to business partners.
