Job summary

A leading telecom company in Kuching is seeking an experienced IP Networking Engineer to handle troubleshooting and support for IP/MPLS networks. The role requires a minimum of 5 years in IP networking with expertise in IP transport networks. Responsibilities include diagnosing network issues, performing configuration for routers, and providing on-call support. A strong knowledge of routing protocols and telecom operations is essential. Job Descriptions

• Hands-on experience with IP equipment.
• Proficient in IP Core technologies, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with EMS/NMS/NPS systems for proposed network solution.
• Effective communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to train and transfer knowledge to internal NOC teams.
• Availability for on-call support outside of working hours for major outage’s incidents.
• Diagnose and resolve IP network issues (routing, switching, performance).
• Provide Level 2/3 support for IP/MPLS, enterprise, and carrier-grade networks.
• Analyze network logs, troubleshoot incidents, and ensure SLA compliance.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Implement and support MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VRRP, HSRP, and QoS.
• Perform firmware upgrades, security hardening, and IP address management (IPv4 & IPv6).
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, NAT, VPNs.
• Experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, ISIS).
• Familiarity with firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA).
• Understanding of network monitoring tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
• Proficiency in Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5 years in IP networking, technical support, or network administration.
• Proven expertise in IP transport networks and has product knowledge of the proposed network modernization solution.
• Network operation and maintenance, especially with IP Core technologies.
• Experience with telecom carriers, ISPs, or enterprise transport networks.
• Knowledge of 5G backhaul, metro fiber, and submarine cable networks is a plus.
