Job description

Location: Pasir Gudang, Johor.

Purpose of the job

This position is responsible and accountable for the performance and success of the logistics, import and export, and finishing planning organizations in the SEA region.

  • Assume overall responsibility for logistics effectiveness in the SEA region.
  • Support the business needs of the SEA region by ensuring customer deliveries are fulfilled according to the company's customer promise
  • Ensure effective control of working capital and cost by ensuring efficient supply chain and material management
  • Continuously develop team capabilities and working processes to improve performance
  • Participate and foster in an engaging safety culture as a key leader within the larger factory organization
  • Oversee and guide all finishing planning activities in SEA.
  • Oversee and guide the import and export activities of the SEA region.
  • Oversee and guide all activities related to storage and warehousing in the SEA region.
  • Oversight of terminal logistics processes in the SEA region.
  • Manage unit transportation cost in the SEA region.
  • Develop and manage key supplier relationships, including logistics suppliers, Shipping liners warehousing suppliers, and other third parties who are needed for collaboration with supply chain
  • Maintain and improve relationships with indirect suppliers for topics other than pricing and commercial agreements, regularly meeting with them to follow up with cost KPIs.
  • Responsible for any 3PL outsourcing and management as might be needed to support the business
  • Drive improvement in KPIs including IDA, logistics and coil stock levels.
  • Strict monitor warehouse performance
  • Ensure effective warehouse utilization management and ensure that warehouses are located in optimal areas with respect to logistics.
  • Take overall responsibility for stock control and inventory accuracy, ensuring that the physical inventories match the system inventories
  • Maintenance of the warehouse infrastructure in cases the warehouses are maintained by the company.
  • Ensure safety in SEA logistics operations.
  • Develop team members capabilities and capacities to take on more responsibility in the future and build a team which performs to the highest possible performance levels.

  • Continuously improve logistics network efficiency through development and implementation of business processes and working practices
  • Lead physical inventory management and manage inventory of indirect raw materials and coil stocks

  • Import/export relationship management including with relevant public organizations
  • Be responsible for the occupational health and safety of the entire team
  • Ensure internal company compliance and abide by all laws and company regulations
  • Other tasks as required or needed based on business needs
Prerequisites
  • Education: University degree at the bachelor level or above
  • Major: Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Engineering. Other majors considered based on type and duration of relevant experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in supply chain management
  • Language: Fluent English, written and spoken, is required. Other languages are a plus.
  • Computer: Competent with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Other applications knowledge is a plus.
