Job Description

Huntsman Corporation is now looking for a dynamic individual as an Intercompany Accountant.

This role will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and will handle intercompany processes, code invoices and prepare balance‐sheet reconciliations. The position has direct interaction with various levels of management worldwide to ensure that the accounting service is delivered on time with high quality.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post various monthly intercompany transactions and entries, including creating and processing intercompany non‑trade invoices.
  • Interact and communicate with the respective business units to facilitate special and/or reporting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet and intercompany accounts; perform analysis on any discrepancies relating to intercompany transactions.
  • Perform analysis on aging for Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables.
  • Research and follow up on aged intercompany items.
  • Provide monthly explanations of inter‑company balances and outstanding issues.
  • Research failed automation items for trade and non‑trade transactions.
  • Maintain intercompany account data via balance sheet reconciliation and identify issues, unreconciled and aged items.
  • Initiate payment and netting for intercompanies and affiliates.
  • Post entries for securitization program, intercompany debts and interest.
  • Balance intercompany debt and interest with counterparties; reconcile intercompany debts to Treasury Tools.
  • Assist in the preparation of ad‑hoc reports such as year‑end reporting as assigned.
  • Provide support and service requests from the business globally in a timely manner.
  • Involve in implementing systems, procedures changes, ad‑hoc projects and migrations (if any).
  • Participate in User Acceptance Tests (UATs).
  • Participate in internal/external audits.
  • Comply with SOX and IA control guidelines in all intercompany and affiliate transactions.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Degree with 1 year of accounting experience.
  • Prior work experience in a shared service and accounting environment.
  • Ability to follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
  • Ability to exercise judgement and apply job skills, company policies and procedures in resolving repetitive problems and work on tasks that are moderately complex in nature under close supervision.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP accounting and/or IFRS.
  • Proficient in MS Office; MS Excel is a must.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under tight timelines.
  • Good written and communication skills in English and Mandarin; comfortable working with diversified cultures.
  • Able to excel in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Customer‑service and task‑oriented; committed to responding efficiently to customers’ needs and delivering quality work at all times.
  • Experience in accounting systems such as SAP would be a plus.
