Job summary

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Ensure approved materials are used, and correct methods and workmanship are adopted by the Contractor.
  • Ensure works are carried out as per the Construction Drawings for the correct dimensions, levels, locations, etc.
  • Inspect works on the date and time as per the Contractor’s Request for Inspection (RFI).
  • Witness testing of all materials and work done on the date and time as per the Contractor’s Request for Inspection (RFI).
  • Take notes of the site instructions and any other relevant directives on the drawings used in the inspection, to ensure that they are taken into account.
  • Prepare a written list of any points that may require attention, in concurrence with the Assistant Resident Engineer, where the Contractor has requested the inspection.
  • Re-inspect works that have been rectified before the subsequent works are permitted to be carried out.
  • Inform the Assistant Resident Engineer should the Contractor fail to comply with the Specifications and Construction Drawings and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Resident Engineer.

Requirements

  • Certificate/ Diploma in electrical/ mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 18 years of proven working experience in construction site supervision, ideally in road and bridge projects.
  • Certified Inspector of Works (registered under the Board of Engineers Malaysia).
  • Solid understanding of electrical/ mechanical engineering principles, construction methods, and quality assurance processes.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian construction regulations and safety standard.
