Job summary

A leading property development company in Seberang Perai is seeking an experienced Inspector of Works to ensure site inspections comply with approved drawings and project standards. The successful candidate will have at least 7-8 years of experience in the property development or construction industry, hold a relevant qualification, and be registered with CIDB as an Inspector of Works. This role requires strong technical knowledge, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7-8 years of relevant working experience in property development and/or construction industry.
  • Registered with CIDB as an Inspector of Works (IOW).
  • Familiar with reviewing and interpreting technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings.

Job description
Inspector of Works (Property Development)

Carry out site inspections to ensure construction works are executed in compliance with approved drawings, contract specifications, and quality requirements.

Monitor workmanship quality, quality control processes, materials used, and construction methods, including follow-up on defects and verification of rectification works by contractors.

Attend and witness mandatory site tests, inspections, and technical assessments to ensure compliance with project standards and quality requirements.

Prepare reports on site activities, work progress, and other related matters.

Ensure all materials delivered to site comply with approved specifications.

Identify remedial and outstanding works to ensure such works are carried out by contractors within the time stipulated in the contract.

Regularly report to relevant superiors on work progress and problem areas encountered, particularly in relation to defective, outstanding, non-conforming, or delayed works.

Maintain proper records and documentation related to work progress, including daily work records covering labour, machinery, and weather conditions.

Attend site meetings and technical meetings as directed or when required.

Liaise with consultants and contractors to clarify design intent, resolve technical issue.

Job Requirements:

Certificate, Diploma, or higher qualification in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Minimum 7-8 years of relevant working experience in property development and/or construction industry.

Registered with CIDB as an Inspector of Works (IOW).

Familiar with AutoCAD and able to review and interpret technical drawings.

Strong technical knowledge with the ability to monitor and manage site quality effectively.

Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
